Generational Fruitfulness

A 15-year vision for the future of Redemption City Church

Progress Toward 15 Year Vision

Fundraising Goal

$290,000 mortgage loan payment by August. $XX,XXX pledged to date.

Nearly three years ago, we initiated our Rooted campaign with the goal of establishing a lasting presence in the City of Rochester by acquiring our current building. Through the providence of God, involving external support and the generosity of our members, we successfully raised over $300,000 and secured a loan to purchase a facility that allows us to deepen our roots.

Over the past seven years, we have diligently cultivated a solid core of values and distinctives that define who we are as a church family. The roots of worship, preaching, doctrine, teaching, community, prayer, hospitality, family, and fellowship, which we all cherish, sustain us and enable us to grow upward and outward. As we continue to mature as a church, these foundational elements will further strengthen and deepen.

Now, it’s time for us to expand, bear fruit, and multiply. In the summer of 2023, we embarked on a journey toward a 15-year vision that aims to delve deeper and extend farther. Our vision outlines three primary objectives: establishing a counseling ministry, implementing an education program, and engage in worldwide church planting. The counseling ministry will focus on strengthening believers and reaching out to a hurting community. The education program seeks to equip every school-age child and adult to embrace faithful, industrious, and creative manhood and womanhood. With these healed and empowered saints, our mission is to send teams globally to replicate this impactful work in other places.

Counseling

At Redemption City Church we want to help people navigate the darkness and endure their circumstances with the truth of God’s word. His word is a lamp (Psalm 119:105) to guide our way to peace and joy. Scripture is sufficient for “every good work” given by God to think carefully through every thought, every action, every circumstance life presents us.

Over the next 15 years we will aim to:

  • Train a team of lay counselors led by a staff counselor to provide counseling service to the church and community.

  • Hold life-skills seminars to help the saints grow in dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, marriage, parenting, addictions, and other pressing needs.

  • Become a training hub for regional counselors in other churches.

  • Obtain property to provide a counseling shelter and recovery facility.

Formal Education

Over the last 6 years more than 50 people have participated in our theological training program. Along with a culture in decline, this hunger for truth has revealed to us a great need to equip the next generation to stand against the tides of culture with truth and build in the wake of culture’s destruction a flourishing society.

To accomplish this, the children of this community will need a rigorous training program grounded in truth. They need to be inspired by a vision of Biblical flourishing in all topics of study to accomplish God’s purposes in their ordinary lives here in Minnesota and beyond.

Over the next 15 years it is our goal to:

  • Work with parents to begin a parent-led primary education program to lay a foundation of biblical fidelity.

  • Create a secondary education program to equip young adults with the classical knowledge and practical life skills to build a home and community economy for the glory of Christ.

  • Expand further education offerings into theological training for future church leadership to spread faithful gospel communities throughout Southern Minnesota.

Missions

All authority in heaven and earth belongs to Jesus. God’s plan is to fill the earth with the knowledge of his glory and to do it through the church. We are excited to be part of this mission and aim to replicate ordinary faithfulness to Jesus through the church around the world.

In the next 15 years it is our desire to:

  • Develop an ongoing relationship with an overseas partner near unreached peoples to facilitate multiple short-term support trips per year.

  • Patiently and deliberately raise up and train theological astute and high character leaders to build churches here and around the globe.

  • Plant and sustain a vibrant church in another town in Southern Minnesota.

  • Send an entire team to an unreached people group to plant a witness for Christ to reach, train, and hand over leadership to indigenous peoples.

Next Steps

A big vision like this cannot be accomplished overnight. God took 4,000 years to fulfill his promise to Eve to bring a seed to crush the head of the Serpent. 1,450 years passed before the prophet like Moses finally came. 1,000 years came and went before the promised Son of David was born. Malachi said to prepare the way for the Lord 400 years before he arrived. Even Paul waited 17 years after receiving his mission from Jesus before the church sent him out on his first journey.

Slow and steady faithfulness is more important than big and splashy displays of growth. God will bring the fruit in his timing. And we must all be faithful to do our simple, quiet, ordinary part building toward the whole.

To that end we are beginning with a few essential steps:

  1. Continue to dig roots of faithfulness deeper into the community growing our stability in prayer, bible study, weekly worship, and community groups.

  2. Help every member find his or her role in building the body on this mission. (Pray about how God has gifted you and given you a passion for him and his people, then talk with your elders to find your place of faithful labor in driving our redemption roots deeper or spreading the branches of counseling, education, and missions further.)

  3. The first step toward this big vision is to pay off our first building mortgage. We currently pay $3,000 /mo on this mortgage and will owe ~$290,000 at the end of the summer of 2024 (there are multiple continency options if we can’t reach this goal).  Paying off this first mortgage will free us to begin investing our regular giving into the next steps of the vision.

Giving unto Generational Fruitfulness

If you are inspired to help Redemption City Church take its next steps forward to accomplish this vision, please prayerfully consider a generous financial gift to free us from this first mortgage and enable the saints to begin their next steps of building.

We all have a part in making this vision happen employing all of our gifts. In addition to keeping our roots healthy, we are now asking the church to work together sacrificially and generously to make the first step a reality. Consider how you can work, save, sell, and give to free the church to set up the church for generational fruitfulness.

If you are able to give toward the vision of Fruitful Multiplying into the next generation, you can write a check to Redemption City Church (with Building Fund in the memo line) and place it in the offering box or mail it to 1835 19th AVE NW, Rochester, MN 55901.

You may also give at our online giving page (select Building Fund in the drop down menu). Please note that the giving platform takes 2.5% of your gift to run the service, a significant amount for a large gift.

Every gift big or small is an act of worship and trust in God to build his church and spread his glory throughout the earth. Some may only be able to give $1,000 beyond their normal giving, others $5,000. If God has blessed you financially, perhaps he has blessed you in order to give a much larger amount: $10,000, $50,000, or even $100,000!

However God leads you to give, we are grateful for your partnership in the gospel unto the next generation throughout the earth.
