Membership

Membership at Redemption City Church is how believers covenant together as one local body — to prize, preach, portray, and protect the gospel together, under the authority of Christ and the care of its elders. We believe membership is vital to the spiritual health of every follower of Christ.

What we believe

Members affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Elders teach under the Elder Affirmation of Faith (TCT Network). Our affinity confessions include the 1689 London Baptist Confession, the New Hampshire Confession, the Westminster Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds.

What membership means

Elders lead, deacons facilitate, members serve. Our leaders covenant to preach the Word, care for your growth, pray for you, and shepherd the flock; members covenant to walk in love, pursue holiness, share Christ, give cheerfully, use their gifts to build up the body, and submit to Scripture as the final authority — including biblical church discipline when restoration is needed.

The path to membership

  1. Get connected — join the newsletter, a Community Group, and the Church Center app.
  2. Take the membership class — classes are held periodically.
  3. Meet with an elder — share your testimony of conversion and baptism, present the gospel briefly, and explore your spiritual gifts for service.
  4. Two weeks for the church — the congregation has two weeks to exercise its responsibility toward a new member; record a short (3–5 minute) testimony video to share with the church.
  5. Stand before the church — express your commitment to the body.
